Frequently Asked Questions
What are your hours of operation?
We're open from 9 AM to 6 PM every day of the week, at both locations.
Is there a time limit for play sessions?
Yes, each play pass provides two hours of playtime. That said, if we aren't super busy, don't worry about staying longer if you're having a good time. If you see the sold‑out sign on the door, please depart as scheduled.
How does membership work?
With an active membership you can visit as often as you like without paying an entrance fee, just give your phone number at check‑in.
- Memberships are linked to the child. Each child you bring must have an active membership.
- Yearly and monthly‑recurring members get 25% off birthday party bookings.
- All members get 25% off snacks, drinks, and merchandise.
- Members may enter regardless of capacity, unless a private party is in progress.
Can I bring outside food and drinks?
Yes! Just follow these rules:
- No homemade items, a DeKalb Dept. of Health rule.
- No alcohol at Isaac's Sandlot Chamblee: we're in front of a school, and Georgia law prohibits BYOB at our proximity. Chloe's Sandlot Kennesaw isn't, so alcohol is permitted there.
- Nothing with a scent strong enough to distract other guests.
- No common allergens, such as nuts.
Do I need to make a reservation? How do I check capacity?
General admission is available without a reservation, just come on in! Reservations guarantee your spot if we hit capacity. The sandbox allows a maximum of 30 children so everyone's comfortable. Reservations are especially recommended on weekends and mornings.
To check capacity, click "Book Now" and choose "Play Pass." The number under each time slot shows how many tickets are still available; if a slot doesn't appear, it's sold out. Birthday parties must be scheduled in advance.
How safe and clean is the sandbox?
We use the highest‑quality volleyball sand, a higher grade than normal play sand, specifically graded and screened to be the softest, cleanest sand possible with almost no dust. We sanitize the sand, toys, and surfaces daily and throughout the day as needed, and we immediately remove any sand that gets soiled. We don't like getting sick either.
Can I drop my child off, or do I need to supervise?
For regular open play, an adult must be present to supervise their child at all times. We also offer structured childcare programs: Parents' Morning Out, recurring weekday‑morning enrollment for ages 18 months–5 years while school is in session, and Camp Sandlot during school breaks.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, on or before your first visit, as required by our insurance. It must be signed by a parent or legal guardian, nannies and other relatives are not allowed to sign, per our insurance policy. Use the "Sign Waiver" button above or fill it out at check‑in on our on‑site terminals. We recommend doing it online on your phone, since your browser can auto‑complete the fields much faster than typing on our tablets.
What are the rules?
- Adults must be present to help enforce the rules and make sure their child plays nicely with others.
- No food, drink, candy, or gum in the sandbox.
- No throwing sand, running, or screaming. Throwing sand at another child may result in being asked to leave, especially if it gets in their eyes or after a first warning. Eye‑wash stations and protective glasses are available, but prevention is always the goal.
- No shoes or socks in the sandbox, cubbies are provided nearby for footwear.
- NO MIXING THE DIFFERENT SANDS. Ever tried sorting kinetic sand from fluidized sand? We have, and it is not fun! :)
Are you disability-friendly?
Yes! This is the perfect type of play for children with various disabilities, and we'll do everything in our power to make sure they have a great experience. If you see an area we can improve, please let us know!
Are adults allowed in the sand?
Yes! Feel free to join in on the fun with your kids. Kids are required, though, unless you book a private party.
Are there age requirements?
Though the sandbox is designed for younger kids, children of any age can play as long as they're kind, gentle, and respectful of everyone in the sandbox. We also have kinetic sandboxes for kids who enjoy more advanced play, like building sandcastles or creating sand art.
Do babies need a ticket?
Anyone under 18 who interacts with the sand needs a waiver and a play pass. A newborn who stays in a lap or car seat the whole time doesn't need a ticket. If they're going to touch or sit in the sand, a ticket is needed.
What if my kid gets sand in their eyes?
No throwing sand is one of the rules we enforce, but honestly, most of the time a kid gets sand in their eyes it's because they accidentally flung it into their own face, this is a great place to learn hand‑eye coordination! Safety glasses are available at the front desk for prevention, and we have an eye‑wash kit. The vast majority of the time, kids wipe it off, blink a few times, and are back to playing within minutes. Our sand is softer, rounder, and less jagged than regular sand, so it isn't as painful as we remember from childhood.
What if a kid is misbehaving?
We have 10 dump trucks, yet somehow three kids will still argue over the same one while the other nine sit nearby. Kids, right? The Sandlots are a great place to practice cooperation and sharing. We ask parents to keep an eye out and help settle disputes fairly if the kids reach an impasse. If a child throws sand or causes distress, we'll remind them of the rules and ask their guardian to help enforce them, please flag us if you see something before we do. Every kid has rough days. If parents are doing their best to coach and correct, we'll give them space to parent. If a parent is not attentive or unwilling to address behavior affecting others, we'll ask them to leave.
